Frigid Beauty ;-)

Ooooh, so pretty! :-)  Today we had 'proper snow' at last, and so I took some pictures on my way to work...

^ This is where I live. :-)  The nearest little outbuilding-y bit.  It's really cosy inside.

^ Looking the other way, towards the road...

^ My favourite tree in the park: it's a Holm Oak <3

^ The bridge over the pond in the park.  And beyond it, the bandstand.  The ducks are as cheerful as ever, despite the cold. ^_^

^ Gorgeously-shaped snow-decorated tree...  The Victorian building behind it is the Citizens' Advice Bureau!

^ I love how all the snow-covered trees (...especially this one!) remind me instantly and irresistibly of...

^ ...Mondrian's Grey Tree (1911). :-)

Hehe, yes, it's nice occasionally, but it must lose its appeal if you have snow a lot! I started writing a reply to your letter last night - should be on its way soon. :-)

Thank you! ^_^ There were so many things that would have made good photos, but I didn't have much time, so I'm quite pleased with how these haphazard snaps came out!

I love bandstands. Don't ask me why. I spent about an hour just sitting when I was in Whitby. I need to find one near my house. I'd guess that there's one in the park across the road, but it's a bit too 'stabby' around here for me to go wandering there.

Damn, I wish it would snow more up here.

Bandstands... it must be the musician in you! ;-P Ooh-err, 'stabby'...? Sounds risky! :-( Better stay inside and live vicariously through others' photos...

So pretty, everything looks like Christmas cards :)

Hehe, I was talking to someone at work and we decided that the postman should don full Father Christmas regalia and hire a team of reindeer to get him through the snow with the post! Pity it's the wrong time of year... :-)

MRF! Everyone gets proper pretty snow but me. The snow line finished literally five minutes' walk above where I live. MRRRRRRRF!!!
Feb. 6th, 2009 11:32 am (UTC)
Aw, frustratin'. Still, at least you don't have far to walk to find some! ^_^

No, I walk home most of the way in snow. But it's all VERY downhill, so generally spend at least part of the jounrye sliding on my arse. Ow.

Hehe, I've almost managed that a couple of times! >_< I guess you could take a tea tray with you and do it on purpose...

If you mysteriously never hear from me again, that's what I did.

Whee, snow looks so pretty when it first arrives.

I love that gray tree. It pops up in my life every now and again.

Hehe, it's all slushy and 'orrid now. >_<

I love that gray tree. It pops up in my life every now and again.

Ooh, how interesting! Stalked by a grey tree... ;-P It is rather lovely. One of the students at the school where I work has done a really good copy of it and it's hanging up in the library. :-)

Neat pictures! (And I'm way behind in my journal reading.)

Thanks! (Haha, well, I've not been doing a lot of commenting lately...)

And I'm rather poor at replying comments too. Sometimes my strategy for catching up on friend-list, by the way, is to just read a single journal on the list, all the way back to the point where I started neglecting the friend-list as a whole. That's why you got a flood of messages from me today.

Eavesdrop, snoop, and sigh with yearning...

This journal is not a private diary, it is more like an occasional, imaginary column. Therefore, much of it is on public display. However, if you want to read my occasional attempts at creative writing, my Caution Elf tells me I should only show that stuff to my friends. You know what to do. :-)

NB: If you add me in an unsolicited fashion, please introduce yourself. Otherwise I will probably ignore you.
